Pueen Celebration Collection - FIREWORKS FESTIVAL Plate

Its been quiet on here my little blog, but I'm here right now, right this second (with a flutter of excitement) to share with you guys my brand new HUGE stamping plate from Pueen called FIREWORKS FESTIVAL Plate

Side note: I'm still VERY active on instagram and facebook

A short while ago, I was nominated by my dear friend Marta Warmuz from ChitChatNails to be a guest judge in a Instagram contest that was hosted by Marta, sponsored by Pueen. Of course I took that amazing (and rather difficult) opportunity, and was rewarded with my own plate. Thank you Pueen and Marta!

I highly encourage you to go look at the submissions: HERE

Pueen Celebration Collection - FIREWORKS FESTIVAL Plate:
Pueen Fireworks Festival Plate (Plate only)

There is just so much too look at on this plate! Tons of beautiful imagery. I tested the entire plate using a Sally Hansen Striper polish called Vibrant Violet. It stamped pretty well. Please note that there are some images stamped twice. If the image came out poorly the first time, I cleaned my stamper, scrapper and/or plate, that made the difference every time. I can safely say there is not a shallow image on this plate and that's saying something considering how fine these lines are. Click the image to see the stamping enlarged.

Lots of hidden gems :)

Love! :)
I created a manicure with this plate, but I wasn't happy with how it turned out (my polish, not the plate) So I'll be redoing it asap.

Happy New Year, all the best in 2015.

Twin Post with Simply Stylish Mails: Penguins

I'm back with another seasonal twin post with my cousin Gen from Simply Stylish Nails. The theme we picked this time is PENGUINS! I love penguins. I don't love free hand.

I tried stamping my only penguin image and it flopped, so I HAD to free hand.

Did I do a good job? Let me just say I'll let you and Genevieve be the judge of that!

I used GOSH Blue Balloon, SH InstaDri Lightening, and Konad M89. I free handed the penguin (all dotting tools) on a piece of plastic & top coated it. When it dried I peeled & placed on my nail on over the stamping, exactly like a decal. Once placed, I dotted a hat, and top coated to seal the deal.

Vampire Twin Post with Simply Stylish Nails

Today I'm really excited to be doing a twin post with my beautiful, smart and crazy talented cousin Genevieve who is front woman & manicurist supreme of the blog Simply Stylish Nails.

You can check out last years twin post, where we unknowingly did EXACT same mani!. Last year we chose our brand new bottle of Clearly Spotted to be the object of our post, this year we went with...
I tried to create a spooky and dark look (dark for me, I like fun manis) and to borrow a friends description: eerie mani. The story here is: its foggy at dawn, and the vampire looks over the village he visited last night before he returns indoors. scaarrrry!
Shadowy vampire nails

I used the following:
OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls
SpaRitual A World of Compassion
China Glaze Pelican Grey
China Glaze First Mate
Cult Nails Nevermore
OPI Matte Top Coat
Acetone for mixing.

I've been absent from writing on my blog, but totally active on instagram and facebook. You can see my recent posts and up-dates there. Thank you for sticking me!

I highly encourage you to find Simply Stylish Nails on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and of course her BLOG.

Happy Halloween!

#31DC2014: Green

Day 4!!!! Wow, I'm starting to feel like I can really complete this challenge... But its only going to get harder... so we'll see!

Day 4: Green

I used the following:
KBShimmer Shore Thing (base)
Messy Mansion MM12 (plate)
Konad White (stamping polish)
OPI Kiss me on the Tulips (roses)
Zoya Barbie (roses)
China Glaze Holly-Day (leaves)

#31DC2014: Yellow

Day 3 of the 31 day challenge with the colour yellow. I'm not that big into the shade yellow by itself. I prefer to use it as an accent to other colours and part of the bigger picture.

My yellow mani is simple and nautical themed. I used:
Finger Paints Paper Mâché
Sally Hansen Insta-dri Lightening
Maybelline Navy Narcissist (stamping polish)
Bundle Monster BM-411
MoYou Sailor 01

Still in it on day 3! Let hope I don't drop out in the first week :P

Thank you so much for looking.

#31DC2014: Orange

We made it to day 2 of the #31DC2014 And the theme is orange. I shamelessly copied a manicure by Genevieve at Simply Stylish Nails that she posted last week. She created THE perfect tape manicure using varying orange shades in a gradient that made my heart skip a beat!

Here's my copy cat version:

Finger paints Paper Mâché
Lise Watier Tangerine
China Glaze Peachy Keen
China Glaze Lemon Fizz
Stripping Tape

I attempted I get ahead in the #31dc2014 but I left this manicure on until the late Monday night. I didn't want to remove it, which cause me to loose my "lead". I'll be trying to get a leg up tonight.

#31DC2014: RED

Good morning!

Alright! I'm going for "it" and attempting the 31 Day challenge. Its being set up by Sarah of Chalkboard Nails and you can read her post about it here.

As you can see, day 1 is RED.

I decided to half moons using the new Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Red Eye. A sweet gift to me from my sister, she saw them & thought of me. I got the kit with the base and top coat (Red Eye shown below) and a individual bottle of Tidal Wave. Thanks Theresa!

Half moons created using hole reinforcements. I was inspired by some nail wraps I saw on e-bay a while back. I need to note that the Miracle Gel Top Coat caused BAD streaking. It looks like it works well, just not over stamping.

Sally Hansen Red Eye
OPI My Vampire Is Buff
CultNails Nevermore

Don't forget to search #31DC2014 over all social media to see every ones take on each theme.

Have a great day!

Sorry for being such a stranger! Life keeps getting in the way of blogging. As I mentioned in my last post, I'll be doing a few nail wheel post while I try and get my nails back in shape.

Today I have my grey to light blue & turquoise polishes up for comparison.

Blue nail polish bottle collage

I have a thing for these kind of shades... I *may* have left out 1 or 2 5 or 6 shades (who's counting?), thanks to lack of space on the wheel.

International Flag Plate B67 Swatches

Good morning all!

Life has been hella busy, so please bear with me while I try to ease myself back into a regular blogging schedule. I've missed it!

Let me be honest, my nails are a big mess right now. I got some stamping plate swatches on paper, and nail wheel comparisons to hold me over while I work on getting my nails back to presentable shape.

Today I have quick and dirty swatches from plate B67 found on E-bay. I paid around 0.95 cents for it, and I bought it solely for the Canadian flag.

B67 stamping plate
I am extremely impressed with how well every detail showed up. Minscule details are hard to get a clean transfer with, even from expensive plates. So getting such clean and complete transfers from cheap e-bay plates makes me one happy lady.

Note: this plate has a thin clear film over it that's very hard to see, you have to peel it off before you can use this plate.

If you're curious, the polish is Konad Red. It stamps well, but doesn't show up over black.

Have a great day!

Born Pretty: QA84 plate review

Sorry I just disappeared for a month! So much crap-ola was going on at my house & life that I needed to drop blogging for a little bit. I missed it so hard!

Today I'd like to share with you a cute little stamping plate I got for review from Born Pretty, QA84.

Before I get in to how adorable the 'i <3 u" images are, I want to take a minute and ask:

Have you seen how great the newest image plates from Born Pretty plates are? I'm itching to place another order (and I seriously JUST ordered plate QA82 a few weeks ago... I'm in love!). Go look for yourself, and if you want, here is my 10% off coupon: ECJ61.

I used all China Glaze polish over white for the distressed/faded look, following Chalkboard Nails tutorial (minus the black)

Cute! I love these hearts!

Images transferred with no problems!

I love the doddle's on this plate and I am definitely going to try distressed manis again.

Thanks for reading! Happy weekend :)

Neverending Pile Challenge: Textured shades

Today in the Neverending Pile Challenge, we're doing texture shades. I don't own any untried textures, but I took all 3 I own and worked them into a style I never tried: a tape mani with multiple shades, and in our case today, textured shades!

I used the following:
OPI Alcatraz Rocks
OPI My favourite Ornament
OPI Can't Let Go
Striping Tape from Born Pretty (Provided for review)

Bleh! The Liquid Sands dried waaaay to fast, when I went to take off the tape, half the colour blocking went with it. On my index and thumb I painted one shade and removing the tape worked much better. The clean up was just not happening either!

I was just going to scrap this mani, but I decided to show it "cuz I gotta keep it real" and I was too tried to do another lol. I hope you don't mind!

Thank you for reading, have a great night!

Neverending Pile Challenge: Glow In The Dark

Hi Ladies,

My untried polish for The Neverending Pile Challenge the glow in the dark OPI Zom-Body to Love layered over China Glaze Get In Lime. I stamped on top with BM-418 and Cult Nails Nevermore.

And here's the Money Shot:

I only have one GITD polish, and coincidentally it also untried. I admit I'm not a huge fan of glow in the dark shades (right up there with neon's... I just don't do 'em), but it's really neat how it turned out.

Do YOU own Glow In The Dark nail polish? Have you worn it?

Thanks for looking!
