New Years Eve Mani with Zoya Jem

Hi Guys!

I usually post a day after I wear I mani, so today's post is actually yesterdays mani, and NOT the mani I'll be wearing for ringing in the New Year! (But its still festive enough to!)

I used what is basically my favourite polish of 2012, 2011, and pretty much of all time: Zoya Jem. I added a coat of Essie Set In Stones (gifted to me from my little brother!) and stamped with Essie No Place Like Chrome & Konad M3.

I loved the way Set In Stones applied! Very smooth for such a large glitter, and it dried fairly quickly! Silver is not a shade I typically gravitate towards, but I  can totally see myself wearing this one a lot!

I hope you all have a great New Years Celebration!

Thanks for stopping in!

See ya next year ;)

A Miss-Matched Mani

Hi weekend readers!

The mani I'm showing today, was a look that I submitted to Martas Skittlette contest, only to have my dear friend email me back saying that she cannot accept my entry. Turns out it is not a SkittlETTE manicure, but just straight up Skittles! Rules are rules and so I submitted THIS look to the contest instead of the mani below. (Click HERE to see the deserving winners!)

To create the above look I used OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI, SOPI Caught With My Khaki's Down, Cult Nails Nevermore, Maybeline Bold Gold, MASH Plate 40, KKCenter HK Water Decals (you can see full review HERE)

Look at the shimmer in Dutch Ya!
And if you're wondering what exactly is the difference between a skittles and skittlette mani: skittles is all different, and skittlette is 2 or 3 nails the same!

Are you a fan of the skittle/lette look? I am certianly warming up to the skittlette trend these days, and I have been a fan of skittles for a long time!

Ok! On that note I'm out!

Have a great Saturday!

Christmas Day Mani #2

This is a mani I did at my MILs house while she was deciding what to have done on her nails. I told her the best X-mas gift anyone could get me... is let me do their nails! lol!

I have taken my inspiration to do a  white and gold mani from looks both MartaStephanie have done recently. I also saw some pins on pintrest with a similar print. Lets take a look!
I used Finger Paints Papier Mache, Essie Good As Gold and MASH Plate 40.

The white and gold colour combo looked so classy! I am still wearing it, despite the major chip situation I have going on over here.

Now I just gotta think of a few NYE manis... any ideas? Do you guys know what your plans are yet? or more importantly what your wearing? lol jk! :)

TY for stopping by,

Grey Snowflake Mani

Happy Christmas Eve!

As I am writing this, I am hoping to have everything done by the time you read this post! With a few last mins stops on Sunday, Jon and I just need to wrap it all up and call it a day! :)

Today I have one of the Essence Twilight polishes to show you:

This is Edwards Love with Konad M56 and Essie No Place Like Chrome. This is a wintry look if I ever saw one. Reminds me of snow falling at night.

Here's a swatch of Edwards Loves on its own:

I can't comment on the name or how it relates to the colour, I have never read the book or seen the movies. I also don't know much about the story line,  But I do know the POLISH is really nice, a 2 coater. The sliver flakes all stuck to my fingers after removal which kinda sucked.

Snowflakes are a big hit with alot of people every year, and its so easy to see why! Its wintry, festive, pretty, and fun all rolled into a pretty snowflake shape!

That's all I have today! I *may* have a scheduled post ready for Christmas day, but I can't promise that I will have time to finish... So I will say: Have a safe and happy Christmas and a great holiday if you get one!

Thank you all for reading my blog on this Christmas Eve!

Contest Entry at Chit Chat Nails

Happy Friday!

I hope everyone is keeping well! I am on the mend, but still under the weather. At this point I am going to get cabin fever, and Christmas will pass my family by if I don't get my butt up and moving!

Today I have my entry into Martas Skittlette nail art contest (click to see all entries here). I was feeling a little uninspired (being really sick and all) so I decided to go for a good old festive mani. I'm not sure how the judges will receive it, but I am actually really proud of how it turned out.

To create this look I used OPI The Spy Who Loved Me, Cult Nails Nevermore, China Glaze Jolly Holly, and Maybelline Bold Gold (Stamps). The plated used were MASH Plate 49 & Konad 77.

My sister also created a look to summit to the challenge. She sent me the photos and I decided to post them here as well!
She used OPI Colour So Hot it Berns, OPI Gettin' Miss Piggy With It, and an LA Colors White (I'm not sure of the name). Funny story the OPIs she used in her mani belong to me, and the OPIs I used in my mani belong to her! I'm so proud of her for entering!

Have a great weekend everyone, and if your going out a lot this weekend have fun and stay safe!

Bye for now!

First Christmas Mani

Wow Christmas is creeping up isn't it!? For the past 3-4 days I have been sick as a dog, so it seems like I am not getting much done in terms of getting ready for the festivities. Hooray for last min rush around right!... ok maybe not, especially when you're sick. But I did squeeze in a mani that certainly brighten my spirits (just what the Doctor ordered), I saw a similar look on a blog and I don't know who sported it, but I drew my inspiration directly from them.

Christmas tree dotticure
I used Finger Paints Papier Mache as the base, then dotted using China Glaze Jolly Holly, OPI The Spy Who Loved Me, Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist, and gold accents with Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold.

That's it for me today, I have to get some much needed rest, but be on the lookout for more x-mas inspired manis coming soon!

Thank you for reading during this hectic time of year :)

KKCenterHK Review: Vintage Style Decals

I hope everyone is holding up this holiday season! I am running around like a mad woman, with 2 sick little guys, Jon suffering from a "man cold", and I suspect I may be coming down with something a little more serious... dare I say the dreaded flu!

Today I have a review for water decals I received from KKCenterHK.

I used one of my all time favourite nail polish shades OPI You Don't Know Jacques, and OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui. Although very different colours, YDNJ & SSFS both have a really cool dusty & muted feel to them, which made them my number one choice for THESE vintage looking water decals from KKCenterHK.

I love how smooth these decals lay on the nail, plus there is basically no clean up like you have with stamping. These are perfect for beginner nail enthusiast, people who only want fancy nails for an event such as a holiday parties without paying a lot (like my Mom!), or busy people who do their nails by "candle light" before they go to bed... like me! :) The colour and level of detail in these decals cannot be achieved with stamping.

If you are looking for a quick fix or a nice way to dress up your manis I encourage you to check out the selection at KKCHK they have a huge selection to choose from. And if you DO find something that catches your fancy, feel free to use my 10% off code: nailcall at checkout.

Thank you for reading and stay healthy everyone!

Twin Post with Gosia from Life In Color!

Good morning Lovelies!

I'm happy to be sharing a twin post with Gosia over at Life In Color about our swap we had a few weeks ago. Back in November I contacted her about a *certain* GOSH nail polish (but I'm not saying which! lol) and we decided a nail polish swap is in order!

Check out the goods Gosia sent me:
Front: All China Glaze, Wagons Trail, Bizzar Blurple, and Immortal (!!!). Back: Cult Nails Afterglow, Finger Pains Inkblot Blue, Finger Paints Papier Mache.

I was able to kill one MAJOR lemming (Immortal) and lots of little ones too. I was thrilled to be able to grab Cult Nails Afterglow from her blog sale (which still has LOTS of great stuff) because its sold out on Cult Nails site. I can't wait to try that one out.

... But it will have to wait! I tried Inkbolt blue right away!
Forgive the lint on my thumb
Finger Paints Inkbolt Blue & Papier Mache nail art done with dotting tools.

Its sad, but my pictures cannot capture how bright Inkbolt really is. Inkbolt dries matte, so a top coat is advised. FP Papier Mache has a thick formula, but one of the best whites I've tried. I'm very happy to have this in my stash.

Next I have Immortal!
China Glaze Immortal
I knew I wanted ChG Immortal the minute I started seeing swatches. I have a thing for grey nail polish with shimmer! Immortal is a beautiful heather grey with blue, pink, and white shimmer particles. Its from ChGs Halloween collection this year, but I don't see Halloween in this shade.

That's all I've swatched so far! Keep your eyes out for the rest soon.

I want to say thank you to Gosia for picking these up for me because its basicly impossible for me to get to Sallys from where I live (one Sallys is 30 mins away in Sarnia, or the other one is 45 mins away in St. Thomas, for all you southern Ontario peeps) and both of those locations are no where near anywhere I ever need to be. Long story short, its awesome to have a Sallys hook up! :)

Please head over to Life in Color and check out the goodies I sent Gosia!

Thank you for reading!

Blue Rose Stamped With Gold

Hi Guys!

Super simple look today. I grabbed 2 shades from the Sally Hansens NYFW collection: Ion, which I have shown you a few times (you can see a swatch and comp HERE) and Blue Rose.
Sally Hansen Blue Rose
I used 2 easy coats here, Blue Rose has a very good formula. Next I stamped with one of my favourite designs: Konad M23 using Essie Good as Gold.

Thanks for looking.

And have a great week!

Revlon Jaded with Feathers

Good Monday all!

How was your weekend? Ours was busy, filled with lots of running around, and seeing people (which is always nice!)

I have once again pulled another mani from my vault. This is actually what I wore for my first week back to work, in October. I *think* its Revlon Jaded, but it also may be OPI Stranger Tides (which recently broke, and has been tossed). The more I look at it the more I think this really is Stranger Tides. I have it saved on my desk top as Jaded. Either way here is a lovely green with some simple stamping:

I used the feather print on MASH Plate 29, and Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Haute Chocolate. ... I'm not sure why it reads red with purple undertones in my pics above.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Have a great week!

Coco Allure Cleopinktra

Hi Guys!

Me again, with those 2 whites: OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Sally Hansen Ion. I wanted to try one of my untried indies over the white base while I had it on. I grabbed Coco Allure Cleopinktra. You can see my other Coco Allure polish, Bootiful HERE & HERE. I love Bootiful!
Coco Allure Cleopinktra is a sparse layering polish full of  light pink, dark pink and gold multi size and shape glitter.
Here's what Bobbi says: Cleopinktra is bright Fuchsia, bright gold, and warm gold glitter in multiple sizes in a clear base. Both pink and gold symbolise femininity and luxury to me, and the two together really complement each other.
Truth! Such a pretty polish, and I can see it looking great over any colour... I want to use  dark blue for Cleopinktra to be layered on in the near furture!
Excuse my owie
Another big WIN polish from Coco Allure. If you're interested in her amazing nail products check out her Etsy shop. Since this was only a quick swatch I was really sad to see this go, I'm already plotting my next mani with this pretty glitter.
Thanks for reading! Oh and if you have a indie glitter that you just LOVE feel free to let me know about it in the comments, if you wrote a post on it I'd love to check it out!
Happy Hump Day!
